BCC at mbuf Jahreskongress 2026: Guest Governance in Microsoft 365

September 29, 2026 - September 29, 2026

Darmstadtium, Darmstadt

From September 28 to 30, 2026, the Microsoft Business User Forum (mbuf) community gathers at the Darmstadtium for its annual congress. BCC is on site as a sponsor and will show, in a dedicated session, how to get a grip on one of the largest unmanaged attack surfaces in Microsoft 365: guest accounts.

Why guest governance is a priority now

Guest accounts with no expiration date. External partners who were never deactivated once a project ended. Suppliers with permanent access to Teams channels nobody reviews anymore. In most M365 environments, external users are the largest unmanaged attack surface, and Copilot makes the risk worse still: AI follows permissions, including those of guests.

That is exactly where the BCC session at mbuf Jahreskongress picks up.

The session: Guests in Microsoft 365, from risk to self-service governance

Using a real customer project, BCC shows how a nationwide business association rolled out secure guest user management for 13,000 members in just two weeks.

The approach is called self-service governance: business units manage their own guests, following clear IT rules and without a ticket queue. The session covers the challenges along the way and shows how controlled self-service brings together security, scalability, and user adoption.

Attendees leave with practical, field-tested recommendations and quick wins they can apply directly to their own M365 environment.
