The European Collaboration Summit, also known as Collabsummit, is the largest community-driven conference in the world with a focus on modern workplace technologies and digital transformation, with topics such as Microsoft 365, Azure, SharePoint, AWS, Multicloud and Business Apps.

The largest community driven group in the world

With approx. 2,000 attendees the Collaboration Summit is the largest user group in the world. Over three-days, world-leading experts and speakers delivered a series of full-day workshops and a range of “what’s new” and “best practices” break-out sessions.

BCC were a Platinum Sponsor at this years event. We had many conversations about Identity Management, Mail Migration and our new Teams Management.

Session Highlights

As the collabsummit has so many sessions there was something for everyone

  • Sharepoint 2019 - with many deap dive sessions and full info on what is coming in the next iteration of SharePoint.
  • Azure - Microsoft Azure is underneath every new cloud service that Microsoft ships nowadays, there were a huge amount of sessions regarding Azure and even full-day tutorials.
  • Teams - was a very hot topic this year as Teams is the next generation collaboration tool from Microsoft. There were lots of user adoption sessions, what's new and information about Teams Management

Teams Management

I presented on Wednesday 29th May. The session "How to automate life cycle management of Teams and ensure compliance and security", covered some of the challenges organizations face with managing teams - from creation and security, through to Teams lifecycle management and how BCC can help with our new Teams Management module for AdminTool.

The session was very well attended, thank you for the great discussion and questions afterwards.  The slides are available here

The Community

Collabsummit has a large community, in fact they use the hash tag #communityrocks, and it does. Over the 3 days at the event we spoke to so many interesting people.

As speakers and sponsors the BCC team were invited to the after show Rhine Cruise. This was a great event to meet and network with a great group of people.

All in all ECS was a friendly and welcoming event and the community really does make it feel like family.  Great opportunities to network, learn and attend interesting sessions.

The News

As the previous edition of the BCC news was so popular, we have created a special report about the European Collaboration Summit. You can watch our special Collabsummit version of the BCC News with Sharon James and Stephanie Heit below. Enjoy!

It is safe to say that the Collabsummit is now one of the conference highlights of the year and we will be back in 2020.
